Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage (or both)
12 oz penne pasta (pre-cooked al dente)
1/2 onion, diced
1/2 bell pepper (green/yellow), sliced thin
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
1–2 cloves garlic, minced
6–8 slices provolone cheese
1 tbsp oil (for griddle)
Salt & black pepper to taste
Italian seasoning (optional)
—
🔥 Instructions:
1. Boil Pasta Ahead:
Cook penne in a pot inside or on a side burner.
Drain, drizzle with a little oil so it doesn’t stick, and set aside.
2. Preheat Blackstone:
Set to medium-high heat. Oil the surface lightly.
3. Cook the Meat:
Add ground beef or sausage to the griddle.
Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned.
Push to the side.
4. Add Veggies:
Sauté onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms until soft.
Add garlic at the end (30 sec).
5. Mix It Up:
Combine meat + veggies + penne pasta on the griddle.
Season with salt, pepper, and a little Italian seasoning.
Toss it all together to heat through.
6. Cheese Time:
Lay provolone slices evenly across the pasta (as in your pic).
Cover with a dome or large lid and steam with a splash of water to melt the cheese (1–2 min).
7. Serve:
Scoop onto plates and garnish with parsley or red pepper flakes if you like.
✅ Tips:
Add a splash of marinara or alfredo if you want it saucy.
Craving spice? Add some crushed red pepper or spicy sausage.
