Instructions:
1. Activate Yeast:
In a bowl, mix warm milk and sugar.
Add yeast and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. Make the Dough:
In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, egg, vanilla, melted butter, and the activated yeast mixture.
Knead the dough (10 min by hand or 5 min with mixer) until soft and smooth.
Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours (until doubled in size).
3. Shape Donuts:
Roll the dough on a floured surface to ½ inch thickness.
Cut with a donut cutter or use a cup + bottle cap.
Let the cut donuts rest for 20–30 minutes.
4. Heat the Oil on Blackstone:
Place a deep foil pan on the Blackstone griddle.
Pour in 1.5–2 inches of oil.
Heat to 350°F (use a thermometer if possible).
5. Fry Donuts:
Carefully drop donuts into the hot oil (not overcrowding).
Fry 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
Use tongs to flip and remove.
Drain on paper towels.
6. Optional Toppings:
Toss in cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, or dip in glaze.
