Blackstone Fun French Toast Two Ways

Blackstone Fun French Toast Two Ways

Brandy October 12, 2025

Ingredients:
For the French Toast Batter:
6 large eggs
1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
For the Bread:
1 loaf Texas toast or brioche bread, sliced about 1 inch thick (you’ll need about 12-16 slices total, depending on size)
For the “Breaded” Side (Optional – if replicating the left side):
1 cup crushed cornflakes, panko breadcrumbs, or a mix
For the “Sprinkle” Side:
1/2 – 1 cup rainbow sprinkles (the long “jimmie” style work well)
For Cooking:
2-3 tablespoons butter or cooking oil (e.g., canola, vegetable)
For Serving:
Maple syrup
Powdered sugar
Fresh fruit
Equipment:
Blackstone Griddle
Whisk
Shallow dish (for batter)
Another shallow dish (for breadcrumbs/sprinkles)
Spatula
Tongs
Instructions:
Prepare the Blackstone: Preheat your Blackstone griddle to medium-low heat. You want it hot enough to toast but not burn the bread quickly.
Make the Batter: In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
Prepare for Dipping:
Place the crushed cornflakes/breadcrumbs in a second shallow dish.
Place the rainbow sprinkles in a third shallow dish.
Dip the Bread (Two Ways):
For the Classic/Breaded French Toast (left side of your image):
Take a slice of bread and quickly dip it into the egg batter, making sure both sides are coated but not overly soggy. Let any excess drip off.
Immediately transfer the battered bread to the dish with crushed cornflakes/breadcrumbs. Gently press to coat both sides. Set aside on a plate. Repeat with half of your bread slices.
For the Sprinkle French Toast (right side of your image):
Take a slice of bread and quickly dip it into the egg batter, making sure both sides are coated but not overly soggy. Let any excess drip off.
Immediately transfer the battered bread to the dish with rainbow sprinkles. Gently press to coat both sides, ensuring a good layer of sprinkles adheres. Set aside on a plate. Repeat with the remaining half of your bread slices.
Cook on the Blackstone:
Add 1-2 tablespoons of butter or oil to the hot griddle. Spread it around.
Carefully place the prepared French toast slices onto the griddle, ensuring there’s enough space between them. You might need to cook them in batches.
Cook for 3-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Adjust the heat as needed to prevent burning, especially with the sprinkles which can caramelize quickly. The breaded French toast might take a little longer to get crispy.
Serve:
Remove the cooked French toast from the griddle.
Serve immediately with maple syrup, a dusting of powdered sugar, and your favorite fresh fruit.
