Ingredients:
For the Dough (or use store-bought pizza dough):
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 ¼ cups warm water
2 tbsp olive oil
For the Filling (Customize to your taste):
1 cup marinara or pizza sauce
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup pepperoni or cooked sausage (optional)
Sliced olives, mushrooms, peppers, onions (optional)
Italian seasoning or fresh basil (optional)
For Cooking:
Butter or oil for the griddle
Garlic powder (optional for crust)
👨🍳 Instructions:
1. Make the Dough (skip if using store-bought):
In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead until smooth. Let rise for 1 hour.
2. Prepare the Filling:
Mix your sauce, cheese, and toppings in a bowl (or layer them inside individually).
3. Assemble the Flatbreads:
Divide the dough into equal pieces.
Roll out each into a rectangle or oval shape.
Spoon filling onto half of the dough, leaving a border.
Fold over and seal edges by pressing with a fork or folding the edges in.
Lightly oil the outside of the dough.
4. Cook on Blackstone:
Preheat griddle to medium heat.
Add a little oil or butter to the surface.
Place stuffed dough on the griddle and cook for 3–5 mins per side until golden brown and crispy.
Press gently with a spatula if needed to ensure even cooking.
5. Serve Hot:
Slice and enjoy with extra marinara for dipping!
