Ingredients:
For the sandwich:
4 slices of whole grain or white bread
4 slices of bacon
1 sliced tomato
4 large lettuce leaves (preferably iceberg or romaine)
2 tablespoons of mayonnaise (or more, to taste)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
Start by cooking the bacon. In a large skillet over medium heat, fry the bacon until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined baking sheet to drain off excess fat.
Toast the bread slices to your favorite crispiness. You can use a toaster or toast them in a pan with a little butter for extra flavor.
Spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toast.
On the bottom slice of bread, layer the lettuce leaves, followed by the tomato slices. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper for extra flavor. Place two slices of crispy bacon on top of the tomato.
Top with the second slice of bread, mayonnaise-side down.
Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately.
