Jalapeño Cheddar Burgers

Jalapeño Cheddar Burgers

Brandy October 12, 2025

There’s nothing quite like a classic cheeseburger to satisfy your cravings. With its juicy beef patty, melted cheese, and fresh toppings, it’s a quintessential dish that brings comfort and flavor together in every bite.

Whether you’re grilling in the backyard or cooking on the stovetop, this recipe will guide you to create the perfect cheeseburger that can impress family and friends alike.

To craft the ideal cheeseburger, it’s crucial to use high-quality ingredients. The star of the show is the beef patty, which should be seasoned simply to let the flavors shine through. The cheese, whether it’s American, cheddar, or Swiss, adds that creamy richness that completes the burger.

You can customize your toppings to suit your taste, making it a versatile meal for everyone.

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef (80% lean)
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 slices of cheese (American, cheddar, or your preference)
4 hamburger buns
Lettuce leaves
Tomato slices
Pickles
Ketchup and mustard (optional)
Cooking Instructions:
1. Start by preheating your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat. While it heats up, divide the ground beef into four equal portions and shape them into patties, about ¾ inch thick.

Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

2. Once the grill or skillet is hot, place the patties on it. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip them over.

After flipping, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers reach your desired doneness (160°F for medium).

3. While the burgers are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in the skillet until golden brown.

Assemble your cheeseburgers by placing the cooked patties on the bottom half of each bun, then adding lettuce, tomato, pickles, and condiments before topping with the other half of the bun.

Extra Tips:
For the juiciest burgers, avoid overworking the meat when forming the patties, and make sure not to press down on them while they cook.

Additionally, let the burgers rest for a few minutes after cooking to allow the juices to redistribute. Feel free to experiment with toppings and sauces to create your own signature cheeseburger!
