🍔🧅 French Onion Soup Burgers 🍔🧅

Ingredients:

Burger Patties:

1 lb ground beef 🥩
Salt and pepper to taste 🧂
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 🍶
Caramelized Onions:

2 large onions, thinly sliced 🧅
2 tablespoons butter 🧈
1 teaspoon sugar 🍬
1/2 cup beef broth 🍲
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme) 🌿
For Assembly:

4 slices Gruyère or Swiss cheese 🧀
4 hamburger buns 🍞
1 clove garlic, minced (optional for garlic butter buns) 🧄
Additional butter for buns 🧈
Directions:

1️⃣ Caramelize the Onions: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add sliced onions and sugar, cooking and stirring occasionally until onions are deep brown and sweet (about 20-25 minutes). Deglaze the pan with beef broth if the onions start to stick.

2️⃣ Prepare the Burger Patties: Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, then form into 4 patties.

3️⃣ Cook the Burgers: Grill or cook the patties in a separate skillet to desired doneness.

4️⃣ Garlic Butter Buns (Optional): Mix butter and minced garlic, spread on buns, and toast until golden brown.

5️⃣ Assemble the Burgers: Place each patty on a bun bottom. Top with caramelized onions, a slice of cheese, and broil until cheese melts and bubbles.

6️⃣ Sprinkle with fresh thyme, add the bun tops, and serve immediately. Enjoy the rich, savory flavor of French Onion Soup in burger form!
