Pineapple Bacon Burger BBQ Oven (Printable Version)

Brandy June 22, 2025

# What You’ll Need:
→ Burger Patty
01 – 1 pound lean ground beef (93%-7% fat ratio)
02 – 4 tablespoons bottled smoky style barbecue sauce, divided
03 – ½ teaspoon salt
04 – ¼ teaspoon black pepper
→ Burger Assembly
05 – 8 slices smoked bacon, uncooked
06 – 4 slices fresh pineapple, ½ inch thick with core removed
07 – 4 bakery style brioche burger buns
# Steps to Follow:
01 – Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and an oven-safe wire rack. Set aside.
02 – In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, 2 tablespoons of barbecue sauce, salt, and black pepper. Avoid overworking the meat to ensure tender patties.
03 – Divide the ground beef mixture into four equally sized patties, approximately 4 ounces each, 3 ½ inches in diameter, and ½ inch thick.
04 – On a tray or cutting board, lay two bacon slices in an X pattern. Place one patty in the center, add a pineapple slice on top, and fold the bacon over. Secure with a toothpick.
05 – Repeat the bacon-wrapping process for the remaining patties and place each assembled burger on the prepared baking sheet.
06 – Bake the burgers for 15 minutes. Remove the sheet, brush the remaining 2 tablespoons of barbecue sauce onto the bacon, then return to the oven for another 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
07 – Toast the burger buns, if desired, while the burgers finish cooking.
08 – Remove the burgers from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute. Serve on burger buns with optional toppings or condiments.
# Additional Notes:
01 – The USDA recommends cooking ground beef to an internal temperature of 160°F-165°F for safe consumption.
02 – You can substitute fresh pineapple slices with canned pineapple rings packed in 100% juice. Pat them dry before use.
03 – For extra flavor, choose barbecue sauces like sweet & spicy, honey barbecue, or hickory brown sugar.
04 – Standard or center-cut smoked bacon works best for even crispness during cooking.
