Bacon Cheddar Open-Faced Sandwiches

Bacon Cheddar Open-Faced Sandwiches

Ingredients (for 4 sandwiches)

4 slices sandwich bread (white or whole grain)

2 tbsp butter or margarine (like Land O’Lakes)

8 slices cooked bacon (crispy)

1 small cucumber or pickle (sliced thin, optional for crunch)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup shredded mozzarella (optional, for extra meltiness)

Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prep the bread

Lightly butter each slice of bread. You can toast them first if you want extra crunch.

2. Layer the fillings

Place cucumber/pickle slices on the bread.

Add crispy bacon strips on top.

3. Add the cheese

Sprinkle a generous layer of shredded cheddar (and mozzarella if using) over the bacon.

4. Melt (optional but recommended)

Place the sandwiches under a broiler or in an oven at 375°F (190°C) for 5–7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Or cook them on a griddle/skillet with a lid until the cheese melts.
