Blackstone Reuben Smash Sandwiches

Ingredients:

1 lb pastrami or corned beef (thinly sliced)

1 lb ground beef (80/20), formed into loose balls

6 sandwich buns or ciabatta bread (flat-top toasted)

Swiss cheese slices

Sauerkraut (drained)

Butter or oil for the griddle

Thousand Island or Russian dressing

Optional: Pickled red onions (as seen in the jar)

🍳 Instructions:

1. Preheat the Blackstone
Medium-high heat, oil or butter the surface lightly.

2. Smash Burgers

Place a beef ball on the griddle, smash it flat with a press or spatula.

Cook 2-3 minutes until crusty, then flip.

Top each patty with Swiss cheese to melt.

3. Heat the Pastrami & Sauerkraut

Warm sliced pastrami and sauerkraut on the side of the griddle.

4. Toast the Bread

Lightly butter and toast both sides of the sandwich bread on the griddle until golden and crispy.

5. Assemble the Sandwich

Bottom bun → smear with dressing

Add the cheesy smashed patty

Pile on hot pastrami

Top with sauerkraut

Add pickled onions if using

More dressing on the top bun and close it

6. Optional Press

Use a griddle press or spatula to press the whole sandwich slightly for a crispy, melty finish.
